The three winners of this summer’s photo competition each show, in different ways, how light and space create special moments.
The photograph of the corridor was taken by Niclas Vanggaard Møller and is titled Traces of Light, 2025. The distinctive daylight in the image creates depth and rhythm in the space. The light accentuates the window reveals on the left side of the corridor, while the beams of light cast into the corridor reveal that there are corresponding windows on the right. The windows are thus present in the image without actually being visible.
Solstrejf på mønten by Anders Hjerming, 2021, shows how sunlight can create special moments, even in a laundromat. The sunlight hitting the yellow back wall creates a distinct tactile quality, while subtle reflections from the many metallic surfaces are cast around the room.
See You in the Shimmering, 2025, was taken by Hui-Yi Yang and is an exterior photograph of a façade, a veranda and a garden. Light appears in all three parts of the image: it is filtered through the treetops, falls on the veranda and is reflected in the glass of the façade. As a viewer, you sense the fleeting nature of the light.
