Baroque window

A window from the architectural period the Baroque about 1600-1750. A typical baroque window is the multi-light window / divided-light window (for mansions) with multiple sashes. Top and bottom sashes are usually of equal size. The windows often have bosses on the corner brackets and the corner hinges. Another distinctive window is the oval or round window, bulls eye.

Barred

A window casement or sash divided into smaller sections by muntin bars/glazing bars.

Bottle-glass pane

See Crown glass.

Bottom glazing bead

The lower of the mouldings or stops around the window frame to hold the glass in place. The material is subject to the window material. The window can be glazed internally or externally.

Bottom hung window

A casement hinged at the bottom, tilts open at the top.

Bull’s eye

A small round or oval window. Also called Oeil de boeuf. See also Crown glass.

Butt hinge

Hinge made of two wings coupled together.
