The Windows of Copenhagen - an english Podwalk

  • Til Web

The Podwalk The Windows of Copenhagen can now be experienced in both Danish and English.

Developed in collaboration with restoration architect Søren Vadstrup, the podwalk invites listeners on a walking tour through the streets of Copenhagen. Along the way, you will discover the story of the window’s evolution, design, and cultural significance – from the Romanesque windows of the Middle Ages to today’s energy-efficient glass facades.

In The Windows of Copenhagen, Søren Vadstrup and Alberte Brinckmann, architect at VILLUM Window Collection, guide listeners through a series of examples of windows from different architectural periods and building types. Each window tells a story about society, craftsmanship, materials, and architecture, together illustrating the vital role of the window in the city’s development.

The tour begins at Designmuseum Denmark in Bredgade and concludes at BLOX on Bryghuspladsen. The Podwalk can be enjoyed as a single continuous tour or divided into several shorter walks according to your preference.

With the new English version, international visitors can now explore Copenhagen’s windows and discover the city’s architectural stories at their own pace.
