Did you miss the Japanese exhibition on windows, architecture, and behavior? Don´t worry - the exhibition has been extended until June 2026.

Since 2007, Professor Yoshiharu Tsukamoto and his architecture students at Tsukamoto Laboratory have been exploring the role of windows in architecture as places where light, air, and views create a unique atmosphere, combined with the window's design and opening and closing mechanisms that contribute to particular forms of behavior.

Their research work has taken them to a total of 34 countries, where they have analyzed several hundred windows through texts, photographs, and drawings, studying the social, cultural, and natural environments that arise around them.

This work has been documented in the book series Window Scape, which consists of four book publications, each with its own theme, published between 2010 and 2022.

In a separate part of the exhibition, Professor Tsukamoto and his students have carefully selected windows from the VILLUM Window Collection, which they have studied alongside the other windows from their research. A total of nine windows from the museum's collection are exhibited and analyzed by the Japanese students, each included in its own thematic narrative along with examples from the books. This has given the windows a new layer and a new story focused on behavior.
