In collaboration with the Window Research Institute (Tokyo), architect and professor Taro Igarashi will give a lecture on the history of Japanese windows, focusing on their development and significance in both traditional and modern architecture.
After the lecture, the Window Research Institute will demonstrate how Japanese Shoji windows made with washi paper are created. Here, you can see and experience the meditative process of traditional craftsmanship and the art of making windows by hand.
We offer 20 participants the opportunity to actively join the Shoji workshop. Selection will be made by lottery on the day.
