Theophilus Presbyter

The work 'Schedula diversarum artium' is an important written source to the history of the window. In the meticulously executed handbooks from the 12th century, the Benedictine monk, Theophilus Presbyter, describes how glass was manufactured in the Middle Ages.

The books give a rare insight into the craft of the beautiful stained glass windows we know from medieval churches.
